I am sure we’re all at a stage where we want to come out of quarantine and be a better version of ourselves when we do. With everything that is going on outside we have to find peace within ourselves and achieve things we normally would not have the time to do. At the moment time is abundant, but how will you use it? I will share how to glow up this quarantine season.
The “Glow Up”
How To Glow Up Phase One: The Inner Glow
Step 1
Write all of your goals down, big or small, just write down everything your heart desires. This could be a great time to invest in a journal or a book where you record your goals, progress and things you would like to improve in your life.

Now, focus on the goals that are most important to you, Maybe you want to lead a healthier lifestyle, learn how to play an instrument or even learn a new language. After focusing on the things that are most important to you, it’s time to plan because as Alan Lakein once said,“failing to plan is planning to fail.” Ask yourself: Why do I want to achieve this?, How can I achieve this? If you answer these two questions your willpower to work on your goals will become stronger.

Step 2
Take time for yourself. When you wake up in the morning try not to check the news straight away try follow your favourite exercise video, meditate or stretch. This will ensure you have a positive start to your day despite everything that is going on outside. These are the things you could do:
- Wake up at the time you would usually wake up for school or work and if you are allowed to, take a walk around the block. The morning air has this amazing freshness because the air tends to be less polluted at that time.
- Come back home and exercise/ stretch or meditate, we need movement in life. I follow Chloe Ting’s ‘Get Abs in 2 WEEKS | Abs Workout Challenge‘ and I stretch following Alivia Dandrea’s ‘How to get flexible legs‘ I usually do not like follow along exercising videos but these two are really good. If your whole family want to get involved every morning at 9am (UK time) Joe Wicks goes live and has a thirty minutes training session which is great to keep everyone, including children, fit and active during this time.
- So far so good, you have spent time on yourself and you’re awake early, meaning you have so much time to get going on your steps to achieving your goals. From this point on you take the lead and plan the rest of your day…

How To Glow Up Phase Two: The Outer Glow
Step 1
Water. The first thing you have to do in the morning before eating breakfast is drink a generous cup of water. Breakfast is indeed the most important meal of the day as you have technically been fasting for the last 8 hours, however, you have not drank any water during those 8 hours either and the tissues inside your body need that hydration. Let’s practice now, if you have got this far down on this blog post, have a cup of water… Well done! One step down 😉

Step 2
Spa day. Set one day in the week which you will use to pamper yourself. Make a DIY face mask you want to try out, have a steaming hot shower and remove all the dead skin on your body (if you would like more information on how to do this we have a blog post here!), paint your nails, change your hairstyle/ colour or cook a meal that you have really been wanting to have. Make that day of the week about you and relax.

Step 3
Reorganise your room or your closet. I’m sure we have all wanted a change of energy and the best place to start is your room. Move you bed around, decorate your room a little, look at all the clothes in your closet and keep the items which still ‘spark joy’ when you wear them and give the other items out. Find your style, go online and see which clothes represent you the best…

Step 4
Spend time with your loved ones by playing board games or having your meals altogether. Build memories and use this abundance of time wisely, making the best out of it.
