Autumn (fall for our american friends) is the perfect time and perfect season for a new hair mask recipe… Today’s recipe is a simple DIY pumpkin hair mask with pumpkin, shea butter, coconut oil and castor oil.
At this point you could blend anything and make a hair mask right? So here is why you should use pumpkin:
Pumpkin contains potassium and zinc which help maintain collagen therefore playing an important role in promoting hair growth. It is also rich in Vitamin B which stimulates hair growth by improving blood circulation. If you think it’s worth trying, here is a quick method…
Ingredients:
Either pumpkin puree or cut cubes of pumpkin
- Water
Equipment:
- Blender
- Bowl
- Pot
- Sieve
- Puree the pumpkin (If not bought ready made)

2.Melt the oils (of choice)

3. Blend the soften pumpkin cubes

4. Sieve the pumpkin to get rid of lumps

5. Mix the oils with the pumpkin

This simple DIY pumpkin hair mask can be used as a conditioner after shampooing because it is easier to apply on wet/ damp hair. Let is sit for 15-20 minutes or be like me and let it sit until you forget it’s in your hair. After that, rinse it out and apply a leave in conditioner in your hair and allow your hair to air dry ready for styling the next day!
If you have tried this recipe and have any tips you’re welcome to leave them under this post. Happy Halloween!
